What do I need to take my puppy home?

Crates, food, toys? What about grooming? So much to think about! Most of the time we order from PetEdge.com , Dog.com or just go to the local Petsmart . We've compiled a list of the "stuff" we think you need to have on hand to keep your puppy safe, comfortable and happy. The links included are from the PetEdge website. • Sleeping Crate - Small or medium
• Fleece Crate mats from Wal-Mart (one can be cut into 3 pieces) I'm looking for the manufacturer - below is a picture of the the one we purchase. Do not get the non-skid backing! They crack and break in the dryer.
• Exercise Pen - ProSelect Exercise Pens with or without Door 24 or 30 inches high
• Collar and leash - this is your choice, have fun with it!
• Food - we currently feed and recommend Royal Canin Puppy Food . They love it. We'll send a small bag home with a coupon for another bag.
• We feed our dogs in their kennels; with 4 dogs it makes it a lot easier to make sure everyone is getting what they need. We recommend Lixit Dog Carrier Cage Crocks in the 20 ounce size.
• Combs
  • Face/Finishing Combs
  • Medium/Coarse Comb
• Brush - Small Pin Brush
• Ergonomic Professional Nail Clippers (small dog size after six months)
• Puppy Kong

  Simple toys always work! Phoebe had rather play with an egg crate or a sock than anything we buy her . . . sorry Petsmart!

• Nylabone Teething Keys
• Nylabone Puppy Bones - the 'durables' are better than the 'flexibles' - the 'edibles' shouldn't be given to them before 6 months old
• Any of the Berber or Fleecy toys that are plain and bigger than they are.
• Puppies do have accidents - we highly recommend Planet Urine - The Happy Pet Home Specialists! The site has a lot of great info and their products are wonderful!
• We use Petzlife Spray with all our Havs - it makes a huge difference in their breath and tartar buildup. Also available at Petsmart.

Dot really wants to play with Baggins.	All the puppies just love big 'ol Brutus!	Aunt Delilah gives Mama Bailey a rest!
