Who are we? Ennagaldi Havanese began with Ingrid and Tiffany Huey. Back in 2002, my niece Tiffany was given a small dog named Lois. We had always been large dog people - to me any dog under 25 pounds didn't qualify as a "real" dog. Lois was our introduction to the Havanese breed. What a sweet, wonderful little dog she was (and still is)! Lois led to another sweet Havanese named Erica and so on. Ingrid began breeding in 2003. There were so many requests for pictures that Ingrid asked me (Leisa Barnette) to create a website and Ennagaldi Havanese was born. You'll see references to the following Havanese and their human families: (there will be a test)
We all live within a few miles of each other and take care of each others' menagerie whenever necessary. None of our animals ever want for love or attention (or a snack or chew toy!) We welcome potential Havanese families to visit us and meet everyone. It's a great way to see how your kids interact with this wonderful family breed as well as to see how happy and loved our pets are. There's never a dull moment with these little guys around the house. Our puppies are raised in the living room and kitchen with a whelping kennel and then a puppy playpen. The whole family gets into the care and socialization of each litter from day one. They hang out all over the house with us once they get a little older. Once they start heading outside, Heffner really enjoys playing chase! Even the cats enjoy checking them out and playing with them. The mommies don't mind taking a break with one of the 'Aunts' around!
We are not a commercial breeder. We have one litter from each of our girls in a year - sometimes less often. We screen potential families carefully to ensure that our precious puppies go to the home best for them. We strongly believe that families and puppies should meet. You are welcome to meet the puppies at our homes by appointment. We wait until the pups are 3 weeks old and have had their first vet visit before letting those outside the family handle them. We are happy to answer any questions you have about the breed or about our Havs.
We do not ship puppies. We prefer that you come to our house and pick your puppy up, but we also realize this isn't always feasible. We are happy to discuss meeting you at a mutually convenient location or delivery. However, with fuel prices being what they are this has to be negotiated on a case by case basis. So much happens in that first 8 weeks! We've always felt that the new families miss out on a lot - so we send the following home with you and your puppy:
